Visit to ArcelorMittal’s Steel Plant

Last week, the Carbon4Minerals team had the privilege to visit ArcelorMittal’s steel plant as part of our projects' six-monthly update meeting. This visit provided us with an in-depth view of the steel production process and highlighted the vital role ArcelorMittal's slags play in developing sustainable technologies.

Our collaboration with ArcelorMittal focuses on using their steelmaking by-products to create supplementary cementitious materials through carbonation. These materials are crucial to supporting global efforts toward decarbonization and sustainable construction practices. As a key partner in both Co2Treat and Carbon4Minerals, ArcelorMittal contributes its advanced technologies to help produce resource-efficient, low-carbon binder products that could reshape the future of civil engineering.
