Thermodynamic modelling course

We are excited to share that the NTNU has organised a GEMS Workshop on Thermodynamic Modeling of Cementitious Systems. The workshop took place from Tuesday, June 27th to Friday, June 30th, 2023, at Eawag, Dübendorf.

About 40 participants gained a better understanding of thermodynamic equilibrium and mass balance calculations and learned how to use GEMS, a thermodynamic modeling software developed at PSI, for cementitious systems. The workshop provided participants with the ability to calculate the hydrate composition of cementitious materials and to create single systems and process files in GEMS to calculate hydrate compositions, saturation indices, and chemical interactions of cementitious materials with the environment.

Thank you to Prof. Dr. Klaartje de Weerdt from NTNU and Katrijn Gijbels for presenting our Carbon4Minerals project.
