Revolutionary development from Vandersanden

We're excited to share a recently launched Pirrouet®: the first CO2-negative facing brick 🧱 by our partners at Vandersanden!

These innovative bricks absorb a remarkable 60 kg of CO₂ per ton of material during production. 🌍💚 Not only do they contribute to a more sustainable production process, aligning with the sustainability promise made by Vandersanden's "Together to Zero," but they also offer a distinctive aesthetic with a choice of 9 different colours, giving each façade a unique and attractive appearance.

To create Pirrouet®, mineral residual products from the steel industry are mixed with sand, dyes, and water, and then pressed into stone shapes. These stones harden in a conditioned room with a high CO₂ concentration, forming a permanent bond with calcium oxide-containing materials to create a hard limestone-like stone.

Curious about the many benefits of Pirrouet®? Explore further on the Vandersanden website!
