CarbonOrO Awarded by Leapsprong
The Carbon4Minerals project proudly announces the feature of its partner, CarbonOrO, on the Leapsprong platform, an initiative dedicated to promoting innovations for the energy transition. Leapsprong connects businesses, researchers, and policymakers to accelerate impactful solutions for decarbonization and sustainability.
CarbonOrO was recognized for its innovative proposal to establish two CO₂ Capture and Utilization (CCU) value chains in collaboration with Cargill, Paebbl, and Orbix (Belgium). These value chains focus on transforming (biogenic) CO₂ into green cement and sustainable construction materials for the Amsterdam region—a significant step forward in reducing carbon emissions in the building sector.
As a testament to its potential, CarbonOrO secured the Free Membership Award on the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam (ETCA) during the Leapsprong program's final. This membership provides CarbonOrO with critical access to a vibrant ecosystem of industry leaders, academic experts, and policy influencers dedicated to the energy transition.
CarbonOrO’s success exemplifies the alignment of Carbon4Minerals’ objectives with regional sustainability goals. With the support of key stakeholders like Port of Amsterdam, AMS Institute, and Metropoolregio Amsterdam, the project is well-positioned to scale up its innovations for global impact.
