9th International Slag Valorisation Symposium 2025 Coming

We are excited to announce that Carbon4Minerals, represented by our project coordinator VITO, will be participating in the 9th International Slag Valorisation Symposium in Leuven, Belgium, from April 8-11. This prestigious event focuses on transforming residues into valuable resources, with a key emphasis on resilience in industrial processes.

The symposium will bring together experts from around the world to explore innovative ways to valorize industrial by-products, turning them into sustainable materials for various applications. This year, the event will feature in-depth discussions on the latest advancements in slag valorization technologies, offering a platform for both research and practical solutions.

Liesbeth Horckmans, the project coordinator, will present on the topic: "Can Dynamic Mineral Carbonation be used to Make Low Carbon Binders from Steel Slags?". Additionally, our partner ArcelorMittal will contribute to the event as a sponsor, further emphasizing their commitment to sustainable practices in the steel industry.
